The COPE-BP global team visited Bangladesh for a Training of Trainers programme at ARK Foundation Bangladesh, from 20–24 September 2026.
One part of the training focused on trial methods and Case Report Forms (CRFs): the tools the research team will use to record information throughout the pilot trial. Together, the team worked through screening, consent, participant registration, baseline assessments and follow-up.
Sessions also explored the questionnaires, trial procedures and digital data tools, with discussions on participant safety, confidentiality and avoiding common data errors. By practising these steps together, the team is preparing to collect information consistently as the trial begins.
The training also prepared community pharmacists and the research team as master trainers to deliver the COPE-BP intervention and train other participating pharmacists for the upcoming external pilot trial. Sessions covered accurate blood pressure measurement, support with taking medicines, healthy lifestyle advice, follow-up and referral to physicians when needed.
Through demonstrations and pharmacist–patient role-play, participants practised using the intervention materials and communicating with patients. They also explored how to protect patient information and deliver the intervention consistently across participating pharmacies.
